Professor of Economic Analysis and Policy

Kenneth S. Corts is Interim Dean, the Marcel Desautels Chair in Entrepreneurship, Professor of Economics Analysis and Policy, and Vice-Dean, Faculty and Research at the Rotman School of Management. He also serves as Academic Director of the Lee-Chin Institute for Corporate Citizenship. He previously served as Associate Dean, Undergraduate, and Director of Rotman Commerce, the undergraduate commerce program offered jointly by the Rotman School and U of T’s Faculty of Arts and Science. Before joining the Rotman School, he was an Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor in the Competition and Strategy area at Harvard Business School. He received his PhD in Economics from Princeton University in 1994.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Professor Corts has provided expert testimony for the Canadian Competition Bureau, co-authored a policy analysis paper for the UK Office of Fair Trading, consulted on criminal antitrust matters in the U.S., and engaged in executive training and consulting for large IT, pharmaceutical, energy, and manufacturing firms.

Maria Jimena Rivera

Managing Director, Full-Time MBA

Maria Jimena Rivera serves as the Managing Director of the Rotman School of Management's Full Time MBA Program. She previously served as: Assistant Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid at The University of Texas at Austin School of Law, Director for the Career Services Office at The University of Connecticut School of Law, and as Associate Director for Admissions at Yale Law School. Maria received her law degree from Harvard Law School.

In addition to her seven years of administrative experience in higher education, Maria is a lawyer licensed in Texas, Connecticut, and Washington. She has practiced law for ten years, primarily in the area of higher education. Most recently, she served as the Managing Attorney for the Transactional Law Section of the Texas Office of the Attorney General's Child Support Division. The state's Attorney General named her as an Assistant Attorney General of the Year in 2015 for her work helping Texas families. She also worked for four years as Assistant General Counsel for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (the oversight board for the state's universities and colleges).

Naheed Kurji, MBA ’12

Co-Founder, President and CEO, Cyclica

Naheed Kurji is a Co-founder, and the President and CEO of Cyclica, a Toronto-based venture-backed biotechnology company. Cyclica has built and commercialized an integrated AI-augmented drug discovery platform that embraces the complexity of disease to accelerate the discovery of better medicines. Cyclica has been recognized as one of the top 20 AI in Pharma companies globally by Deep Knowledge Analytics and a Top 100 AI company in 2019. Naheed is passionate about how people interact with technology to make more informed and faster decisions, and is dedicated to advancing the responsible application of AI to healthcare problems. In his capacity at Cyclica, he is also a co-founder of The Alliance for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (AAIH), of which he is 1 of 4 appointed Executive Officers. Naheed graduated from the full-time MBA program at the Rotman School of Management, at the University of Toronto in 2012.

Maja Djikic

Director, Self-Development Lab
Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour & HR Management

Maja Djikic, Ph. D. is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management and the Director of Self-Development Laboratory at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. She is a psychologist specializing in the field of personality development. Her work examines means of developing a congruent and flexible self. She has been a post-doctoral fellow with Desautels Centre for Integrative Thinking at Rotman School of Management, and Psychology Department at Harvard University. She has published more than 30 articles and book chapters in the area of personality development in journals such as Psychological Science, Journal of Research in Personality, Creativity Research Journal, New Ideas in Psychology, etc. Her research has been featured in The New York Times, Salon, Slate, The Scientific American Mind, and many other media outlets.

Nouman Ashraf

Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, Rotman School of Management

Nouman Ashraf is Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream within the Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management area at the Rotman School of Management. He possesses a broad range of professional, academic and research interests, with a specialized focus on enabling innovative and inclusive practices within organization life. For the last decade and a half, he has held progressively senior roles at the University of Toronto. He is a recognized thought leader in governance, and has taught thousands of directors in the national Rotman program on Not for Profit Governance in partnership with the Institute for Corporate Directors since its inception in 2007.

An award winning faculty member, Nouman teaches Emancipatory Leadership within the Executive MBA as well as the OMNIUM Global Executive MBA Program, Leading Social Innovation within the 2 and 3 Year MBA programs, and Leading across Differences within the Rotman Commerce Program. He is the Academic Director of various custom leadership programs in partnership with Rotman Executive Program clients.

Associate Professor of Strategic Management

Anne Bowers is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at Rotman. Her primary research interest include how classification shapes market outcomes, particularly the impact of rating systems, rankings and social categories on organizational performance. In a second stream of research, she studies how information flows among market intermediaries, and how their non-market strategies affect various outcomes, such as rating changes, legislation, status, and media attention. Research settings include the financial services sector (equity research, relationship banking), environmental rankings (LEED), as well as online marketplaces (eBay). Will Mitchell serves as a Professor of Strategic Management and Academic Director, Full-Time MBA Program at Rotman, where he holds the Anthony S. Fell Chair in New Technologies and Commercialization and Co-Director, Global Executive MBA for Healthcare and the Life Sciences. Will studies business dynamics in developed and emerging markets, investigating how businesses change as their competitive environments change and, in turn, how business changes contribute to ongoing corporate and social performance. Will teaches courses in corporate strategy, emerging market strategy, entrepreneurial strategy, and pharmaceutical and other health sector strategy. He serves as a board member of Neuland Laboratories, Ltd. (Hyderabad). Will received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.

Imran Kanga

Director, Recruitment and Admissions, Full-Time MBA Program

Imran oversees the Recruitment and Admissions team for the Full-Time MBA program. Imran’s motivation to join Rotman stemmed from the culture of community and collaboration that is inherent in the students, faculty and staff. Rotman’s focus on students’ academic and career success, its focus on being a catalyst for positive change in the community and the country is what drew Imran to Rotman! With almost a decade of experience in Higher Education, Imran has held several international roles in Marketing, recruitment and Admissions with a focus on high growth markets like Latin America, South East Asia and India. Imran is an avid scuba diver and runner. He has completed two half marathons and hopes to complete a triathlon in the near future. His love for ocean conservation is matched only by his passion for travel and food!

Robyn Behlke

Career Consultant, Rotman Career Services

Robyn Behlke is one of our Career Consultants with Rotman’s Career Services team and works with students in both the Full-Time and Morning/Evening MBA programs. She is a certified career coach with ten years of experience coaching students and professionals through their career exploration journey, which includes conducting in-depth assessments, developing personal branding strategies, providing guidance on the job search process, as well as interview preparation, all through one-on-one coaching and facilitating engaging workshops. Previous to her transition into career coaching, Robyn spent over 10 years in recruitment and HR functions across diverse industries including financial services, insurance, telecommunications, technology, law, and hospitality, She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business and Management from Jamestown College in the United States, and is a Gallup certified CliftonStrengths coach.

Global Brand Director, Nike

Amy Bi is currently the Global Brand Director for Nike. She leads the global marketing strategy for the running category inclusive of consumer insights, product concepting, digital planning, member retention, and brand messaging. While at Nike, Amy has worked on key campaigns such as Breaking2, Crazy Dreams, Tokyo Olympics, and You Can’t Stop Sport. Amy is a graduate of Western University, Royal Roads University, and the Rotman School of Management.

Abodya Byatanga, MBA '16

Associate, Diversified Industries, BMO

Born in Tanzania, Abodya immigrated to Canada with his parents at the age of 4. Abodya grew up in Richmond Hill Ontario and completed his bachelor’s degree in St. Catharines at Brock University. Afterwards Abodya worked in business banking at RBC and later moved to Toronto to start the MBA program at the Rotman School of Management. For his summer internship Abodya worked in Investment Banking at CIBC. After graduation Abodya worked at Scotiabank in the Global Risk Management rotational program, and then moved to the Corporate Banking Financial Institutions team covering Insurance companies, Asset Managers and Private equity funds. In 2019 Abodya left Scotiabank to join BMO’s Corporate Finance (mid-market Banking) Division in the diversified industries team where he currently works. Abodya also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Dina Nikitina, MBA ‘17

COO, Trexo Robotics

Dina Nikitina is the COO of Trexo Robotics where they are building the first pediatric exoskeleton for children with disabilities. She holds a MBA from the Rotman School of Management and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Queensland. She has previously worked at the Creative Destruction Lab, Ernst & Young and Women’s College Hospital (WCH). While managing research projects at WCH, Dina led a multi-disciplinary team to secure $6M of funding and implement a pan-Canadian initiative to study breast cancer in young women. She is passionate about digital innovation, social entrepreneurship and strongly believes in leveraging novel technologies for the betterment of society.

Alonso Rion, MBA '18

Senior Consultant, Deloitte

Alonso is a Senior Consultant in Deloitte's Financial Crime Practice in Toronto. He has over 7 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry, specifically in Commercial Banking, Fraud Strategy and Payments Modernization. Originally from Mexico City, Alonso studied Economics at undergraduate level and began his career at Citi Bank as a Credit Risk Analyst. After 4 years at the bank, he joined a start-up that focused on lending to small and medium size enterprises (SMEs), where he worked closely with the managing partners and had to perform multiple roles in a 10-person organization. Alonso then joined GE Capital which later converted to Element Fleet Management as part of an acquisition. In 2016, Alonso moved to Canada to pursue his MBA and pivot to a career in consulting. After a successful on-campus recruitment experience, Alonso joined Deloitte in the summer of 2018 and has been at the firm for the past 2 years. Outside of work, Alonso is passionate about sports, following everything from soccer, football, tennis, basketball and since moving to Canada, hockey of course! He is a proud father of a 10-month old daughter, who takes up much (if not all) of his free time these days.
